An Accelerated Freefall course would provide you with the opportunity to make a solo jump under your own canopy. It's an experience like nothing else! You can skydive solo without being attached to a jumpmaster from the first skydive. With an USPA 'A' license you will have the freedom to fly anytime. How cool is that?
Expect to meet many unique people and overcome any fear of heights through your professional skydiving education. Not only will you train to freefall with a group, you will be shown how to correctly pack your parachute. Take pride in knowing that you can competently skydive solo from over 10,000 feet and even progress with advanced classes.
In order to guarantee safety and to meet the criteria declared by the USPA, applicants to the AFF course must...
On the inaugural level of the training course you will split your time between on-ground training and in-flight practical experience. It is designed to help the student skydive quickly and safely using the latest training methods and tricks. Expect to learn how to maneuver your body, deploy the canopy correctly and the best way to land safely. Once the trainer is certain that you have learned the best ways to safely jump and land, you will have your first AFF class skydive accompanied by two coaches who will fine-tune and perfect your form in the air. Through the following levels, your instructors will continue to observe your performance from jumping off the airplane to freefall and landing. You will be expected to learn more on body control during freefall as you progress to the next levels. Additionally, you will be guided through high level skills and techniques like airplane spotting, gear checks, parachute packing and regaining stability after actions such as back loops, flips and gliding.
Level six is the magic level. This level is where you first take to the sky by yourself. This happens after a final evaluation of sorts. Your instructors need to confirm that you have the skills required. An instructor will follow along to assess your execution and upon successful completion, you are qualified for certification. As long as you have met the requirements of the course by finishing 25 skydives and the activities that your instructor has provided you, you're eligible to obtain your USPA 'A' license.
The USPA is the country's moderating body for skydiving instruction and certification. They issue skydiving licenses ranging from an "A level" (acquired after 25 skydives) to a "D level" (earned after 500 skydives) and express a progressive level of achievement and knowledge.
